Prayer Before Using a Computer †
Light from Light, Only-begotten Son of the Father of Lights, Who dwellest in light unapproachable; the beauty of Whose countenance is beyond description and Whose luminous thoughts are beyond the grasp of any created mind; O Creator of all form and beauty, which are intended for holiness and contemplation of thee: Do Thou now guide us who would use this [computer/phone], that, by doing so, we will glorify Thee and walk in the light that Thou givest us–at all times thinking on whatever is true, honest, just, pure, lovely, and good–to the sole glory of Thy most holy Name, Jesus: through the prayers of the Virgin Mary, Thy Mother; of our Fathers among the Saints Isidore of Seville and Theophan the Recluse; of the Venerable Eugenius of Aitolia, Jov of Pochaev, and Nicodemos the Hagiorite; and of all the Saints. Amen.
Prayer Before the Icon of Christ
We venerate Thine image, O Good One, asking forgiveness of our sins, O Christ our God, for of Thine Own Will Thou wast well-pleased to ascend the Cross in the flesh, that Thou mightest deliver from bondage to the enemy those whom Thou hadst fashioned. Wherefore, we cry aloud unto thee: Thou hast filled all things with joy, O our Savior, for Thou didst come to save the world.
Prayer Before the Icon of the Theotokos
Forasmuch as thou art a well-spring of tenderness, O Theotokos, make us worthy of compassion; Look upon a sinful people; Manifest thy power as ever, for, hoping on thee, we cry aloud unto thee: Hail! as once did Gabriel, Chief Captain of the Bodiless Powers.
The Angelic Salutation
Hail! O Virgin Theotokos, Mary full of Grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the Fruit of thy womb, for thou hast born the Savior of our souls.
